Unlike any politic or any social issue, we can not convince a person to become a Christian. It is not a matter of showing them the evidence and allowing them to come to their own conclusions. Salvation is a work of God’s grace, it is a work of the Holy Spirit that awakens a spiritually dead person and gives them life. Though I need to present them the clear message of Christ, the acceptance is God’s work. I sow the seed and God works the soil.
Therefore, the key element in our evangelism is to pray for them. Pray that God moves in their life and makes convicts them of their sin and righteousness.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to:
- Convict them of their sin
- Make them aware of their sin
- Open their eyes to their need
- Enlighten them by grace to seek spiritual things
- Make them aware of the empty way of life
- Give them faith to understand what the Holiness of God is
- Awaken their dead spirit
- Draw them to repentance
Also Pray for:
Opportunities to share Christ with them.
Opportunities to open the bible with them.
That they might see the difference Christ makes in my life.
Opportunities to share my testimony with them.
That the Lord would bring others into their lives who are believers who would witness to them also.
